TRB - ADDENDUM 3A-2025 for Qualifying Marks - Teacher Eligiblity Test - 2025 - Dt: 29-01-2026 - PDF

As of January 2026, the Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB) Tamil Nadu has maintained the following qualifying marks for the Teacher Eligibility Test (TNTET) 2025:

General Category (OC): Candidates must score 60% (90 out of 150 marks) to qualify.

Reserved Categories (BC, BCM, MBC/DNC, SC, SCA, PwD): Candidates must score 55% (82.5 rounded off to 82 marks).

Scheduled Tribes (ST): A specific concession has been granted, reducing the minimum qualifying marks to 40% (60 out of 150 marks) for the 2025 exam.

Key Updates & Demands

Teacher Demands: Various teachers' federations have formally requested the government to reduce the general cut-off from 60% to 50%, arguing that TNTET is an eligibility test rather than a recruitment exam.

Official Status: While these demands are active, an official addendum further reducing the general or OBC qualifying marks to 50% has not yet been issued by the TRB. Current pass marks remain as stated above.

Results & Certificates: Qualifying candidates will be awarded a TET certificate which is now valid for a lifetime.
